Lady Gila Monsters Headed to NJCAA Nationals as #13 Seed
Eastern Arizona College's women's volleyball team has earned a well-deserved bid to the NJCAA National Tournament as the #13 seed, following an incredible season that included both the ACCAC Championship and the Region I title.
The Lady Gila Monsters came up just short in Monday night's District Final against Snow College, falling in a thrilling five-set battle 3-2 (25-21, 25-21, 18-25, 25-27, 8-15). Despite the loss, the team's resilience and determination have carried them to the national stage.
Key contributors throughout the season and in the District Final included Addison Hinckley (18 kills, 20.5 points), Cale Torgerson (16 kills, 16.5 points), Nayomi Toilolo (25 assists, 14 digs), and Kambria Maloy (32 digs). Hannah Pushckor and Rylee Pitney provided a strong presence at the net with seven combined blocks.
The Lady Gila Monsters will now travel to the Dunn Center at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, for the NJCAA National Tournament, held November 19-22. Fans can celebrate a season defined by teamwork, grit, and championships, and cheer on the team as they compete for a national title.
