The Lady Monsters volleyball team returned home with momentum after a strong showing at the Dodge City Kansas Victory Electric Classic, where they won 4 out of 5 matches. In their recent matchup against Yavapai College on September 2nd, the Lady Monsters notched a convincing 3-0 victory. Melonie Merrill led the charge with 12 kills, while Elisa Saunders added 10 kills of her own, showcasing a powerful offensive presence. Rylee Pitney contributed defensively with 5 blocks, Brianna O'Donnal anchored the defense with 13 digs, and Kady Moore made 2 crucial saves.
The following day, on September 3rd, the Lady Monsters faced a tougher challenge against Mesa Community College and came up short in a 3-1 loss. Merrill continued her strong play with 13 kills and 16 digs, while Pitney recorded 4 blocks and Marli Lopeman added 3 saves.
Now, the Lady Monsters set their sights on the UFirst Intermountain Invite in Taylorsville, UT, on September 13-14, where they'll look to bounce back and continue their strong season. Go Monsters!
