Lady Monsters Sweep Central Arizona, Remain on Top in ACCAC

THATCHER, Ariz. – Eastern Arizona College softball put together a solid weekend at home, winning all four games against Central Arizona College on April 18 and 19.

The Lady Monsters took Friday's games 10-1 and 13-5, then followed up on Saturday with 8-6 and 9-0 wins. With the sweep, Eastern improved to 22-6 in ACCAC play and 31-12 overall, maintaining their lead in the conference standings.

Eastern's offense was consistent throughout the series, scoring at least eight runs in every game. The team also got key contributions from their pitching staff and defense, especially in Saturday's shutout.

The Lady Monsters were scheduled to face Community Christian College this week, but the games were canceled. Their next and final regular-season series is set for May 2 and 3 on the road against the College of Southern Nevada.
