Monsters Secure Win at Home
The Eastern Arizona College men's soccer team came out on top in a back-and-forth contest against the El Paso Locomotives on Saturday, Sept. 6. The Monsters showed resilience and firepower, securing the win behind strong offensive play.
EAC struck first when Davi Barros finished a cross from Duan Cooper to put the Monsters on the board early. El Paso answered quickly to even the score, but the Monsters regained the lead in the 34th minute when Angel Berrios flicked a header to Angel Moreno, who buried it. The Locomotives once again leveled the game before halftime.
In the second half, the Monsters took control. Gerardo Caballero sent a dangerous ball across the box, where Isaiah Owens finished it to put EAC back in front. Barros later earned his brace when Gianfranco Arguello threaded a pass through the defense, allowing him to slot home his second goal of the match.
The Monsters will be back in action quickly, traveling to face Arizona Christian University on Monday, Sept. 8.
