EAC Men’s Golf Wins West District Championship, Punches Ticket to Nationals
LOVELAND, Colo. — Eastern Arizona College delivered a dominant team performance at The Olde Course at Loveland, capturing the 2026 NJCAA Men's West District Championship and securing its place in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.
The Gila Monsters finished at +22, pulling away from the field with a strong second round and steady closing day to top Central Wyoming (+32) and Eastern Wyoming (+36) for the district title.
EAC was led by Pavel Casas, who claimed the individual championship with a composed two‑round total highlighted by a +1 in Round 1 and a clutch 2‑under in Round 2. Casas finished even for the tournament and held off Eastern Wyoming's Jace Nielsen to take the top spot.
Right behind him, John Kaul surged up the leaderboard to finish T3, posting a solid 3‑under in Round 2 after a challenging opening round. His late push helped solidify EAC's team lead.
Alexander Yap added another top‑10 finish for the Monsters, placing 6th after matching Kaul's strong second‑round score with a 3‑under of his own. Yap's bounce‑back round created the gap that the monsters needed to take the lead.
Rounding out the scoring lineup, Dharit Iemkanitchat finished 13th, and Zeke Mieskoski placed T25, giving EAC the depth it needed to secure the championship.
With the district title in hand, Eastern Arizona now turns its attention to the NJCAA National Championship, where the Gila Monsters will look to carry their momentum onto the biggest stage of the season.
