The Eastern Arizona College men's basketball team is once again on top, securing the NJCAA Division I Region I Championship title for the second consecutive year with a dramatic 66-63 victory over Arizona Western. The Monsters claimed the championship in front of a home crowd in a nail-biting battle that came down to the final moments.
Sophomore Armari Carraway was a key factor in the victory, earning Region I Tournament MVP honors after leading the team with 15 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Tarrance Warren played a pivotal role in sealing the win, contributing 14 points, including two clutch free throws in the final seconds. Kaden Ericksen and JT Elder also made solid contributions, each adding nine points to the scoreboard.
With the Region I title secured, the Monsters now set their sights on the NJCAA West District Championship in Ephraim, Utah, where they will face top-seeded Snow College. The stakes are high, as the winner of the district title will earn a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament.
Eastern Arizona will look to continue their championship run against Snow College in what promises to be an intense battle. Go Monsters!
