Eric Benedick enters his first season as an Assistant Coach for the Eastern Arizona College Women’s Basketball team for the 2026/2027 season.

Benedick spent the 2025/2026 season as the lead Assistant Coach at New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU). Notable program accomplishments include achieving the programs first back to back double digit win season in the past decade, NMHU’s first-ever home win against Black Hills State (Feb 21st), and producing three Rocky Mountain (RMAC) All-Conference selections.

From 2024/2025, Benedick served as the lead Assistant Coach at Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU), elevating the program to significant improvements. The Greyhounds went from a record of 11-17 (7-15 in conference, 10th) to 21-10 (15-7 in conference, 4th), achieving the second most Lone Star Conference (LSC) wins in program history. Benedick’s efforts contributed to ENMU’s historic first-ever NCAA Tournament win and their fourth-ever appearance in the NCAA Regional. ENMU reached the LSC Quarterfinals for the first time since 2020, with the best start in school history after 11 games with a 10-1 record. The Greyhounds also posted second-highest season totals in points (2132), rebounds (1230), offensive rebounds (442), and steals (315). ENMU finished with three All-LSC selections, while the team achieved the best rebounding defense in program history, limiting opponents to 32.8 rebounds per game.

Benedick joined the Greyhounds after a short stint as an Assistant Coach with Jacksonville University (NCAA D1-ASUN), helping the program with recruiting, player development, and academic oversight.

The 2023/2024 season Benedick served as the Assistant Coach & Residence Life Coordinator at Eastern Wyoming College for the 2023/2024 season (NJCAA-Region 9). The Lady Lancers improved from a record of 5-23 (1-9 in region, 7th) to 15-16 (8-4 in region, 2nd) tripling their win total, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Region 9 tournament, with two players earning All-Region 9 accolades. The Lady Lancers also earned the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year distinction with a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Benedick’s coaching experience extends back to his time as Head Coach at Colorado Northwestern Community College (NJCAA-Region 18) from 2020-2023. Benedick would elevate the program by increasing wins totals in every season, with CNCC achieving its highest win total in 16 years during the 22/23 season. His tenure produced four All-Region 18 selections, five NJCAA Academic All-Americans, and twelve Region 18 All-Academic recipients. He held dual administrative roles, serving as CNCC’s Athletic Director in 2022/2023 while working in Residential Life for all three years.

Before his collegiate coaching career, Benedick competed as a professional player in Iceland, Thailand, England, Ireland, as well as domestically for the New Mexico BlueTails (PBA). He holds coaching experience from the club circuit level for the New Mexico Clippers,
highlighted by winning the 2019 PBR Super 64 National Championship. He constructed & coached the New Mexico Elite team to the 2019 Gold Championship at the Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI). Additionally, Benedick served for two seasons as Assistant Coach at Sandia Preparatory School in Albuquerque, N.M.

A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Benedick holds a Master of Science in Sports Administration & Physical Education from Eastern New Mexico University (2022), a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in Psychology & Business Administration from Western New Mexico University (2023), and a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communication from the University of New Mexico (2016). He is a FIBA Licensed & USA Basketball Gold Licensed Coach.
