Eastern Arizona Sweeps Yavapai in Women’s and Men’s Matchups

The Eastern Arizona College basketball programs earned a pair of home wins over conference opponent Yavapai College on February 14 inside Guitteau Gymnasium.

Women's Basketball – Eastern Arizona 89, Yavapai 32

Eastern Arizona turned in a dominant performance from start to finish, continuing its strong conference run.
Luiza Auza led the Gila Monsters with 13 points, while Laurel Ihekona secured 7 rebounds. Stephany Goncalves added 5 assists as EAC controlled the tempo and the scoreboard throughout the contest.

Men's Basketball – Eastern Arizona 68, Yavapai 54

The men's program followed with a solid defensive effort, pulling away late to earn a 68–54 victory over the Roughriders. Kahu Treacher led the charge with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Ryan Hunt supported with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. Kofi Peyton also set up shop with 14 points. 

Looking Ahead

The Gila Monsters return to action on February 18 when they host Central Arizona College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. for the women and 7:30 p.m. for the men.
