EAC Softball and Baseball Post Strong Performances Over the Weekend
Eastern Arizona College's softball and baseball teams competed in a multi-game series this past weekend, earning solid results as the season continues.
Softball Wins 3 of 4 in Prescott
The Lady Monsters softball team traveled to Prescott, Arizona, for a two-day series against Yavapai College.
On Friday, April 11, EAC took both games. The first was a 9-3 win, led by Mia Carbonell, who recorded four hits, three runs, and three RBIs. Game two ended in an 8-2 victory, with contributions from Illeanna Cosillos (two hits, three RBIs) and Tagiilima Horsely (two runs scored).
Saturday's games were split. The Lady Monsters won the first 4-2 behind Taylor Christensen's two hits and another strong outing from Cosillos (two runs, two RBIs). They dropped the final game of the series 3-4. Horsely had three hits and two runs, while Cosillos added two more RBIs.
The team will travel to Central Arizona College on April 15 to make up for previously canceled games.
Baseball Takes Series Over Central Arizona
The Monsters baseball team hosted Central Arizona College over the weekend for a three-game series.
Game one on Friday, April 11, ended in an 11-9 win, capped by a late three-run home run walkoff from Reece Van Devander, who finished with four hits, three runs, and five RBIs.
Game two on Saturday, April 12, resulted in a 3-6 loss, but the Monsters responded in game three with a 9-8 win. Jalen Ryan had three hits and two runs, while Miles Vandenheuvel added two hits, two runs, and two RBIs.
Next up, the baseball team heads to Prescott on April 18 to face Yavapai College.
