EAC Basketball Sweeps Yavapai at Home
The Eastern Arizona College women's and men's basketball teams picked up a pair of conference victories Tuesday night, January 14, as the Gila Monsters defended their home court against Yavapai College.
Women's Basketball
The EAC women opened the evening with a strong 69–59 win, led by an impressive offensive performance from Esmeralda Enriquez, who poured in a game-high 27 points. Danaeja Romero-Ah Sam added 19 points to provide a balanced scoring attack for the Gila Monsters.
EAC controlled the tempo throughout the contest, with Stephany Goncalves facilitating the offense and finishing with eight assists. Eanae Dagons contributed on the boards, pulling down five rebounds as the Gila Monsters held off Yavapai's late push to secure the conference win.
Men's Basketball
The men's team followed with a dominant 101–78 victory, showcasing depth and efficiency on both ends of the floor. Brad Ballinger led the way with 19 points while nearly recording a double-double with nine assists and four rebounds. Ryan Hunt posted a solid all-around performance with 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Kahu Treacher added 16 points, and Kofi Peyton chipped in 13 as EAC's offense fired on all cylinders, pulling away in the second half to seal the win.

Both teams will hit the road on January 17, traveling to Douglas, Arizona, to take on Cochise College in their next conference matchup.
