Baseball Alumni Shine

Former Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters players solid seasons this year.

Kyle Wilson (RP Arkansas Tech) was named First Team All-Great American Conference.

Wilson led the Wonder Boys on the mound all year, finishing the regular season with an 8-0 record, the only player in the GAC with at least eight wins and zero losses. The junior from Flagstaff, Ariz. was also the only starting pitcher in the conference to not suffer a loss during the regular season. Wilson was named GAC Pitcher of the Week four times this season, and he currently ranks third in the conference with a 2.22 earned-run average. Wilson ranks second in the GAC in opponent batting average, third in wins and fourth in strikeouts. He has not allowed a run in his last 27 innings pitched, dating back to April 7. Arkansas Tech advanced to the NCAA DII Regional Tournament before bowing out. Wilson finished 9-1.

Andrew Sauceda (OF Lyon College) was named 2nd Team All-American Midwest Conference. Sauceda hit a team high .349, while totaling 33 runs scored, eight doubles, and 27 rbi's. Lyon won the Midwest Conference Tournament and lost in the NAIA Regional Tournament in Hattiesburg, MS.

The Mid-South Conference named Campbellsville's pitcher Indalecio Romo to the First Team and infielder David Montoya to the Second Team. Montoya was also named to the All-Academic Team

Romo battled back from Tommy John Surgery and made himself back into one of the best pitchers in the Mid-South. He appeared in seven games, starting six, and finishing with a 2.02 ERA and 3-1 record. After coming back midway through the year, Romo tossed 35.2 innings, struck out 20 and opponents hit .210 off the Ures, Mexico product. Montoya hit .294 on the year from the leadoff position and set the tone with a .366 on-base-percentage. Starting in 44 games at second base, he also earned Gold Glove honors. Campbellsville won the regular season title, finished runner-up in the NAIA Oklahoma bracket, and then moved on to the Christian College World Series in Ohio finishing second there to Oklahoma Baptist.

Danny Rowley (RS senior C at Missouri State) advanced to the finals of the Super Regionals at TCU.

Sr LHP Dylan Shiraki finished his career at Northern Colorado (NCAA DI).

Sr OF Nick Elliot finished at Kansas Wesleyan (NAIA).

RHP Joe Brennon will be back at New Mexico Highlands (DII).

Junior RHP Brady O'Keefe will be back at Pacific where he was a starter all season.

At CSU Pueblo (DII), second baseman David Gunther had a big year hitting in the 2hole. Third baseman Tanner Fuhrman will return for his senior campaign.

Catcher Jeremiah Moeller will be a redshirt junior at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs (DII).

Shortstop David Perez finished at Lady of the Lake (DII-TX).

Brycen Campbell finished his year at New Mexico State University (NCAA DI) as a graduate-assistant.

Eddie Carl -- Lawrence Chavez -- Alan Garcia -- Jesus Carlos -- Eric Ferguson have either started their pro-season or, will shortly do so.
