Basketball Adds Two Wing Players

The Eastern Arizona College men's basketball team has added two perimeter players to their roster for the 2005-06 season.

The first of the two to sign is Srdan Biljarski. Biljarski is a 6-5, 185 pound guard from the basketball hotbed of Split, Croatia. Split has had several players in the NBA including for Chicago Bull Toni Kukoc and had a player selected by the Toronto Raptors in this summers NBA draft. Biljarski comes to EAC following in the footsteps of countryman Hrvoje Pervan who was the Gila Monsters second leading scorer last season and since signed with Mercer University.

Though he will be new to the US, Biljarski does not lack high level experience. Three seasons ago he led his Split Cadet team to a National Championship and was voted Tournament MVP. This season, now with the Split Junior team he again won a National Championship. In addition to the Club Championship he has twice been on the Croatian National team playing in International Tournaments in Spain and Italy.

The second addition to the 2005-06 EAC squad is Marcus Palmer.

Palmer is a 6-5, 210 pound guard/forward from Price HS in Los Angeles. Palmer is coming off a senior season where he led Price to a 29-4 record on their way to a State Championship. On the year he averaged 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks while earning 1st Team All-State, 1st Team All-CIF, and League MVP honors.

Both Biljarski and Palmer will be looked upon to provide an immediate impact for the Gila Monsters as they look to improve on last seasons nineteen wins.
