Eastern Falls to Top-Ranked Aztecs

soft

The number one team in the nation, Pima Aztecs came to Thatcher and proved why they had that ranking. Pima has the best 1-5 hitters except for last year, they went 1-9. EAC lost both games to Pima by scores of 1-10 and 2-6. Savannah Formo takes the loss in game one and Erica Beltran takes the loss in the second game.

In game one, it was all Aztecs who combined for 10 hits and that included 4 home runs. EAC hits were sparse with an accumulation of 4. Raveon Harrowa was able to muster 2 hits, a single and a double as the highlight. Game 2 Eastern was a little more exciting and had 9 hits with Amber Angle pulling both a single and a double that hit the fence cap and both Maren Christensen and Raveon Harrowa both coming up with 2 hits a piece.

Eastern plays Glendale CC in Thatcher on Tuesday. Lady Monsters sit three games behind Arizona Western College for the last playoff spot. With six games remaining for both, Eastern has the better of schedules as Western ends the season with two games each with Pima CC and Central Arizona College.
