Men Fall at Central

The Eastern Arizona College men's basketball team dropped a tough road game Saturday at the hands of Central Arizona College 77-71.

Eastern led much of the first half, taking a 39-35 lead into the break. The second half was a see-saw affair with neither team able to take control of the game. Eastern took what should have been a 63-62 lead with just over 3 minutes to play but the basket was negated due to an offensive goal tending call. Central scored on their next two possessions and EAC could not regain the lead. Central also sank their final twelve free throws to preserve the win.

Eastern placed four players in double figures and were led by two freshman. Jerryck Owens-Murrey scored a career high 18 points to lead the Monsters and Chris Booker continued his fine play of late scoring 16 points while grabbing a team high 8 rebounds. Brandon Woods chipped in with 13 and Phil Harvey added 10.

Eastern drops to 14-8 overall and 8-6 in the ACCAC and will now face the daunting task of hosting the second ranked team in the country Wednesday night when Arizona Western comes to Thatcher. Game time is 7:30 MST and all of the action can be heard live via the internet at www.swsn.net.
