Thatcher, AZ --
The Eastern Arizona College basketball team got off to a good start to the conference season Wednesday night when they defeated Chandler-Gilbert 64-48.
EAC jumped on Chandler-Gilbert from the start scoring the game's first nine points and never trailed. Eastern stretched the first half lead to as many as 18 before settling on a 32-19 lead at the break. The second half began the same way as the Monsters pushed the lead over 20 within the first five minutes and were never threatened from there.
Eastern was led in scoring by Marcus Palmer's 18 points followed by Gabor Boros' 14. Regan Andersen and Vladimir Bulut each chipped in with eight apiece. Andersen led EAC with 10 rebounds and Jordan Jamestown continued his excellent point guard play pacing the team with 8 assists.
