Monsters Roll by South Mountain

The Eastern Arizona College menís basketball team pushed its win streak to five games Wednesday with a 92-58 victory at South Mountain College.
The Monsters took an early lead and led 40-26 heading into the locker room. They built on their lead as they outscored the Cougars by 20 points in the second half for the lopsided final.
Freshman guard Mike James led the way for EAC with a game-high 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting and a game-high six assists while freshmen Mario Gill, Donald Johnson, and Dazmond Starke all chipped in with 14 points apiece. Starke also had a game-high nine rebounds.
The Cougars were led by Dorian Jones with 16 points.
The Monsters (16-9 overall, 10-7 ACCAC) outrebounded South Mountain 39-25, had just nine turnovers to the Cougarsí 15, and had 14 assists to only five for the home team.
EAC has now won 12 of their last 14 games and heads into Saturdayís game against visiting Phoenix with revenge on its mind. The Bears clipped the Monsters by two points in Phoenix on January 7th the last time the two teams met. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
South Mountain (4-21, 1-16) next hosts Mesa College on Saturday.
