Monsters Defeat Scottsdale
Scottsdale, AZ --
December 18, 2007 Men's Basketball
The Eastern Arizona College basketball team finished out the 2007 portion of their schedule in fine fashion Tuesday night when they went on the road to defeat Scottsdale 72-51.
The Gila Monsters again struggled with a slow start to the game. At the midway point in the first half they trailed 15-8. EAC then exploded for a 26-3 run to close the half ahead 34-18. Scottsdale trimmed the lead to as few as 11 in the second half but the EAC remained in control and cruised to the win.
Eastern was led in scoring by Chop Tang's 16 points. Nikola Kecman added 12, Will Bynum had nine and Vladimir Bulut and Roman Andrade came off the bench to chip in with eight apiece.
EAC goes into Christmas break with a 6-0 ACCAC record and 11-1 overall with their only loss coming by two points at the hands of the fourth ranked team in the country. When Eastern returns they will travel to Yuma, Arizona to play in their Wells Fargo Classic. On the 4th they will face Casper College and on the 5th they will take on Northwest Wyoming. EAC will resume conference play on January 9th when they will host Arizona Western in a battle of the two teams tied at the top of the ACCAC.
On behalf of everyone associated with the EAC basketball program I would like to thank all of those who have been so supportive of us and wish everyone a very Happy Holiday Season.
