Phoenix, AZ --
December 14, 2007 Men's Basketball
The Eastern Arizona College basketball team remained perfect in ACCAC play Friday night when they went on the road to defeat Phoenix College 100-79.
EAC struggled early in the contest, especially offensively against Phoenix's trapping and pressing defense. It wasn't until just over five minutes remaining in the half that EAC took the lead for good. Despite 22 first half turnovers EAC led at the break 42-35. The second half the Gila Monsters took care of the ball much better committing only six turnovers which led to 58 points in the games final twenty minutes.
EAC again saw a balanced scoring attack with six players in double figures led by their two Serbians Nikola Kecman and Vladimir Bulut who each poured in 20 points. Will Bynum added 16 and Dontae Bryant, Roman Andrade and Markhuri Sanders-Frison chipped in with 13 apiece. Bynum led the team with 10 rebounds and Bryant again led the team in assists with six.
EAC (10-1, 5-0) will travel to Scottsdale on Tuesday night for their last game of 2007 when they face the Artichokes. Game time is set for 7:30 MST and all of the action can be heard live via the internet at www.swsn.net.
