Monsters Win on Road: Increase Streak to 4
Chandler, AZ --
EAC led for nearly the whole first half and had the lead spread to 22 points at intermission as the Gila Monsters cruised to a 92-75 victory on the road at Chandler Gilbert. That win is EAC's 17th on the year and 11th in ACCAC play.
As has been customary, the Monsters had strong backcourt play from their sophomore trio of Taylor Stafford, D'Juan Miller, & Dom Hunter.
Stafford finished with a game high 27 points, including four 3's, and also added 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Miller had a double-double with 23 points and a career high 11 assists. He also had 6 rebounds in his near triple-double effort. Hunter had 17 points on the evening, including three bombs from downtown.
EAC's front court also provided strong minutes as freshman Tyler Chaisson finished in double figures with 10 points and freshman Tre Vance contributed 9 points and 8 rebounds.
The Monsters shared the ball well while taking great care of it as they finished with 16 assists and only 5 turnovers on the evening. They also out rebounded Chandler-Gilbert by 8 as they controlled every category on the stat sheet.
Your Gila Monster men have now won 11 of their last 14 contests, and they are back on the road this Saturday at ACCAC foe Central Arizona. If they win this Saturday they clinch a postseason berth. After Saturday, EAC finishes the regular season with 3 out of 4 at home.
