Monsters With 3rd Straight Big Win
Thatcher, AZ --
After beating Cochise on the road and Arizona Western at home over the past week, the Monsters defeated ACCAC foe Glendale by a final of 83-77 to improve their record to 16-8 overall and 10-6 in the ACCAC and lengthen their winning streak to 3 games. After a slow start, EA led by double figures for a significant part of the game until Glendale cut it to a single possession game late. A Dom Hunter three and a streak of clutch free throws put the game back out of reach in the final 3 minutes of the contest.
Reigning ACCAC Player of the Week, Taylor Stafford, finished with a game high 32 points, including six 3's. He also contributed 8 rebounds in the win. Hunter poured in 24 points on four 3's, and Sophomore point guard D'Juan Miller added 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists as the trio combined for 71 points on the night.
The Monsters have won 10 of their last 13 games, and head on the road this week for two conference games before returning home in a week and a half.
