Monsters Close Out Semester With Blowout Win
Thatcher, AZ --
The Monsters gave the best present that they could heading into break with a 88-65 win over ACCAC foe Central Arizona this past Saturday night. A balancing scoring attack pushed the lead out to as much as 30 half way through the second half, and EA coasted home from there.
All 5 starters scored in double figures as the Monsters shot 54% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. Sophomore All-American Taylor Stafford led all scorers with a game high 23 points. His sophomore backcourt running mates also had strong nights as D'Juan Miller finished with 21 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds, and Dom Hunter shot the ball down as he scored 18 points, including four 3's.
Freshman forward Tyler Chaisson posted his second double double of the year as he had 12 points and 14 rebounds. Tre Vance also had 12 points to round out the double figure scoring.
The win improves EA to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the ACCAC with a chance to be tied for 3rd place in conference after this week's games conclude. The Monsters are back in action December 28th and 29th in a Holiday Tournament at TOCC.
