Monsters Get Back on Track for Leitzke’s 100th!
Thatcher, AZ --
EAC Men's Basketball Gila Monsters bounced back from a close Wednesday road loss and beat TOCC Saturday night at home by a final of 87-78. The Monsters improved to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the ACCAC. The win also gave Head Coach Maurice Leitzke his 100th victory at EAC!
Sophomore guard D'Juan Miller had a career night and was a major catalyst in a second half run that put the Monsters over the top. Miller finished with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. Jeremiah Harris battled early foul trouble as did a number of Monsters but proved huge down the stretch as he finished with 9 points and 11 rebounds in only 17 minutes of play.
Following Miller and Harris was a balanced attack by EA as backcourt running mates Taylor Stafford and Dom Hunter finished with 19 and 13 points each respectively. Freshman post Aaron Johnson also finished in double figures with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Eastern is back in action this Wednesday night at home against conference rival Cochise at 7:30 PM MST! Go Monsters!
