Monsters Beat South Mountain

The Eastern Arizona College basketball team survived a scare but came away with a 61-57 road win at South Mountain Wednesday night.
The game was close throughout. There were 15 lead changes, eight ties and neither team led by more than five points. At half EAC held a slim 32-29 advantage but South started the second half on an 8-2 run. Eastern came back to take a 45-40 lead only to see South score the next seven points to regain the lead. The Gila Monsters took the lead for good with just under a minute to go on a Marcus Palmer lay up and then held on by converting three out of four free throws in the final 30 seconds.
EAC was led in scoring by Marcus Palmer's 24 points. Palmer also grabbed a team high eight rebounds. Vladimir Bulut scored 12, Will Bynum added eight and had four blocked shots, while Gabor Boros chipped in with seven points and handed out eight assists.
