Monsters Defeat Scottsdale
Scottsdale, AZ --
The Eastern Arizona College basketball team traveled to Scottsdale on Saturday night and came away with an 82-64 road win.
EAC got off to a quick start jumping on the Artichokes to the tune of a 22-12 lead eight minutes into the contest. SCC battled back and cut the Eastern lead to just two at 29-27 with six minutes remaining. EAC outscored Scottsdale 13-5 to end the half ahead 42-32. The second half was all Gila Monsters as their lead never fell below double digits and slowly increased to as many as twenty with just over five minutes to play. Eastern held on from there for the win.
EAC saw five players in double figures on the night led by Marcus Palmer's game high 22 points to go with his 11 rebounds. Vladimir Bulut scored 14, Jordan Jamestown and Gabor Boros each added 11 and freshman Vince Barney scored a career high ten points to go with his six rebounds. The Monsters held SCC to only 39% shooting from the field and out rebounded them 44-30.
EAC (18-5, 13-3) will stay on the road as they travel to face Phoenix College on Wednesday night before returning home on Saturday to face Arizona Western.
