Eastern Falls to Cochise
Douglas, AZ --
The Eastern Arizona College basketball team dropped their first road game of the year Saturday night when they lost a 63-57 decision at Cochise.
EAC scored the first basket of the game then watched as Cochise rattled of the next 16 points. After digging the hole Eastern climbed back out tying the game at 26 all before going into the locker room down 28-26. The teams traded leads until a late 6-0 run for Cochise put them ahead for good.
Marcus Palmer was the only Gila Monster in double figures as he had a game high 22 points. Palmer also pulled down 11 rebounds. Gabor Boros and Regan Andersen each chipped in with eight. The normally sharp shooting Monster squad struggled mightily connecting on only 3 of their 21 three point attempts and only 8 of their 17 free throws.
EAC (16-5, 11-3) returns home Wednesday night to face Central Arizona before heading on the road for their next two. Game time is set for 7:30 MST and all of the action can be heard live via the internet at www.swsn.net. For all of the latest information on Gila Monster basketball log onto www.eachoops.com.
